CHECK-OUT CHECKLIST

A deposit of $100 is required in order to fully book your Cottage at Driftwood Cove Cottages (DCC). We can accept the deposit as:

·  A paid invoice by ACH or credit card through QuickBooks that would be refunded to you after your departure. 

·  A check that must be processed before your arrival, so must be received no later than a week before your arrival.  

Please understand that DCC follows a Home-Away/VRBO model, which means that there is no staff on the property. Further, the owners do not live on the property and may not be at the property for some time, which is what determined the deposit refund conditions. Please read carefully, as we hope to fully refund your full deposit!

Your deposit will be fully refunded unless:

• Any damages are found to the contents of the Cottage, including but not limited to furniture, linens, dishes, appliances. 
• Any damages to the structure of your Cottage are found, including but not limited to walls, floors, ceilings, light fixtures, faucets, toilets, air conditioners, heaters, window treatments, windows, etc. 
• Any trash is left in the Cottage. Trash left in the cottage will incur a $15 removal fee. All trash must be taken and put into 1 of the 3 cans at the front of the property upon departure. Trash can leave bad odors and attract insects/critters.
• Any open food/drink mess is left in your Cottage, which will incur $15 cleaning fee. Open food and drinks attract insects and leave bad odors. Please clean up any food/drink spills immediately.
• Any dirty dishes are left, which will incur a $15 fee.  Please clean all of your used dishes. Dirty dishes attract insects & can leave bad odors. 
• Any interior or exterior light(s) are left on, which will incur a $10 charge. 
• Any TV left on, which will incur a $10 charge
• Any air conditioner or heater is left on, which will incur a $25 charge. 
• Any damages to shared resources are found, such as boats, boat dock, pier, games, etc that are attributable to any person(s) in your group. 
• Any person(s) that exceed the 6 person maximum (the entire deposit of $100 will be forfeited). 
• Any day guests occur. No day guests are allowed (the entire deposit of $100 will be forfeited). 
• Any unreturned/lost keys occur. If any key is not returned to the black lock and left at front door, there will be a $30 fee. PLEASE, DO NOT LEAVE KEYS IN THE COTTAGE.
• Door not fully closed & locked. You must push the door several times to ensure that the lock has engaged (any door that can be pushed open after your departure will incur a $30 fee).

Although, only $100 is required, that does not mean that damages in excess of this amount will not be collected. 

We understand that normal wear and tear occur and will not hold you responsible for pre-existing conditions that exist in the vintage cottages. Any damage amounts withheld other than the fees listed above, will be accompanied by an explanation and/or receipt, when necessary/able.  

Any refunds of security deposit payments will be initiated within 14 days of your departure.  We are usually able to return your deposit within a few days of your departure; however, we have experienced issues with the cleaning crew getting out to clean and check the Cottages and the owners were not able to get into Tow for some time due to work and travel restrictions.
