COMMUNITY RULES/POLICIES & INFORMATION___________________________________
- There will never be a lifeguard/supervision at Driftwood Cove Cottages (DCC). So, all persons use/enjoy everything on the premise at their own risk including (but not limited to) the boat dock, pier, boat launch, lakefront, lake, kayaks, canoes, life jackets, and outdoor games. No diving off the boat dock, pier or lakefront as there are unmarked underwater hazards.
- No pets of any kind
- No day guests allowed (no one in addition to those who rented the cottage)
- Please no glass (bottles, glasses, food containers, etc) on the lakefront
- Please keep in mind that DCC is, thankfully, not a city. As such, please expect to experience a natural environment. Watch out for venomous snakes and expect insects.
- No charcoal for any purpose allowed on the property
- Do NOT clean fish inside the Cottage, on decks, or picnic tables. Please do not use any item from the Cottage to clean your fish. Please bring your own items to clean fish. Tie your fish carcass tightly in a bag and throw it away in one of the cans at the front of the property and not in the Cottage.
- Do Not sit on anything in the Cottage if you are wet or dirty
- Please understand that self-tanners permanently stain and ruin fabrics, which could be costly to you. So, do not use self tanners in the Cottage & bring towels/blankets to sit on in the Cottage, if you have used a self tanner prior to your arrival.
- DCC is on a septic system, which are fragile systems and are susceptible to issues. Please do NOT flush ANYTHING other than toilet paper, including feminine products. Please refrain from use of thick, luxury toilet paper. Limit use of anti-bacterial products, as they inhibit the natural process of breakdown and elimination of waste in the septic system. No grease is to be poured down the sink drains. Please use the can under your sink provided by DCC for grease.
- Do NOT park in any of the spaces in front of or next to the Post Office. Park only in your assigned space(s). If registered guests have more than two cars, they will need to be parked in one of the spaces in front of the office or across the street along Tow Cemetery Rd.
- Renters will have the benefit of using the boat ramp, dock, & pier. Only approved boats & trailers are allowed access to DCC. Approved parking of boats and trailers must use the space to the right of the storage building (as you face it) along the neighbor’s fence line. Do not leave any vehicle or trailer parked anywhere except there and your cottage’s assigned space(s). Use is free at this time but the owners must be made aware of your intention to bring your boat at booking.
- Please do not leave any fishing poles unattended on the pier for more than 30 minutes, as it interferes with the use of the pier by other guests.
- Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. Also, no revving of engines (motorcycles, cars, boats, etc).
- No smoking indoors. Cigarette/cigar butts are to be put in ashtrays (not flicked on property or lake) and must be cleaned frequently.
